At approximately 4:20 a.m. on July 17, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Travelodge in the 2100 block of Greenwood Road. Upon arrival there, patrolmen learned that as a hotel guest was entering the lobby, a male suspect rushed in behind him brandishing a handgun. The robber forced the guest to the ground and jumped the counter where he put the gun to the clerk's head and demanded money. The bandit then struck the employee in the head with the pistol and, after grabbing an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, fled the scene of the crime.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately six feet tall last seen wearing a multi-colored ski mask, blue jean shorts, and a dark shirt. Detectives are working at this time to recover video evidence from the business and are asking anyone who has any information regarding this robbery to call them at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
